Works at the site of pain and relieves congestion. Its two active ingredients are formulated to relieve a wide range of cold and flu symptoms, including nasal congestion. Fast and effective in clearing a blocked nose and sinuses, relieving aches, pains, headache, feverishness and easing the discomfort of a sore throat. Indications: Contains ibuprofen which belongs to a group of medicines known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). NSAIDs provide relief by changing the body’s response to pain, swelling and high temperature. Pseudoephedrine belongs to a group of drugs called vasoconstrictors which acts on the blood vessels in the nose to relieve nasal congestion. Drug Interaction Precautions: You should not take Nurofen Cold and Flu if: * You have had an allergic reaction to aspirin, ibuprofen or any of the ingredients listed * You have had a worsening of asthma, allergic rash or an itchy, runny nose when taking ibuprofen, aspirin or similar medicines * You have or have ever had a stomach ulcer * You have heart, high blood pressure, prostate problems or an overactive thyroid * You have diabetes or glaucoma * You are under 12 years of age * You are pregnant or breast feeding Warning: Generally well tolerated by the majority of people, however the following side effects may occur; stomach discomfort or pain, nausea, vomiting, stomach ulcer, black tarry stools, rashes or worsening of asthma, sweating, thirst, muscle weakness or tremors, sleeplessness, chest pain or fast, irregular heart beat, liver and kidney problems, headache, dizziness and hearing disturbance and less often difficulty in urinating, mood changes, e.g. restlessness, skin peeling and easy bruising. If you take too many tablets by mistake, contact your doctor or pharmacist straight away or telephone your local casualty department for advice.
